Position Summary

The Partnerships Manager is primarily responsible to cultivate a thriving community of company partners for our 4- to 12-week internships, and 12-month Software Residency programs.

LEARN academy is expanding our career services team with a Partnerships Manager. If you are passionate about growing the pie of junior-supportive companies through internships and apprenticeship-like opportunities, then we’re calling on you. You should be a great storyteller, with a curiosity that leads you to ask more questions than give answers. You should have a pinch of ego, half a cup of patience, two cups of positivity, and a gallon of tenacity.

Salary: 70-78k range

About YOU

You should love being measured by critical drivers (e.g., outreach, new prospects, new partners). You should be willing to give away your “secrets” for the betterment of the entire community. You should be able to ask for help, acknowledge areas of personal growth, elicit extreme ownership, and be willing to accept feedback and advice. And, above all, you should be brave enough to take calculated risks.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Create a systematic, process-driven approach to partner outreach and relationship management.
  • Maintain a proper deal flow system to track partnership prospects.
  • Be the arbiter of LEARN’s first impression to potential partners.
  • Identify and source partnership opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, alumni networks, community partners, Ruby/Javascript Slack and Discord communities, MeetUp groups, industry conferences, and outbound cold calls, emails, and client visits (to name a few).
  • Research partners, identify key players and work with marketing to generate interest.
  • Negotiate and finalize deals in accordance with company’s program guidelines and policies.
  • Keep a great ongoing relationships with current partners and offer new ways to grow the partnership.
  • Work with the Internship and Software Residency managers to deliver a remarkable experience to our partners.

The ideal candidate has…

  • 3+ years of experience working in a client-relationship capacity.
  • 3+ years experience in the software development industry**
  • Strong storytelling skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of productivity and self-direction.
  • Active listening skills and can express ideas clearly and effectively.
  • The ability to get a conversation focused and back on track.
  • The organizational skills to stay organized, but not to a debilitating extent.

** Not required, but preferable.
