Internship Program Manager

The Internship Program Manager’s overall responsibility is to ensure the efficient and smooth running of our internship program. Additionally, they are responsible for building a community among our company partners, building relationships, and continuing to bring in new opportunities for partnerships. Most tasks and day-to-day work can be done from home, but there will be some in-person responsibilities and co-working with the team.
Location: Hybrid Virtual/In-person
Compensation: $60,000 – $70,000

We are looking for an Internship Program Manager to plan, implement, and evaluate all aspects of our internship program. You should be an outside of the box, just-figure-it-out kind of thinker, who thrives on challenges and loves collaborating with students and colleagues. You’ll operate with autonomy but with the CEO’s full support and the rest of the LEARN family. The internship program is not a new program. We’ve helped hundreds of companies and students through our program. You’ll be responsible for keeping the program thriving while looking for new community and company partners. Just because the program is established doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to improve, so we’ll expect you to find new ways to help both the companies and students succeed.
You should have a grasp of current technology trends, a desire to inspire students and companies. You should be comfortable with being responsible for goals, deadlines, and budgets.
Responsibilities:
Program Coordination
- Communicates process and expectations to both students and company partners
- Schedules company partners to present their internship opportunity to students
- Coordinates interviews with companies and arranges internship placement from both company and student’s perspective
- Monitors both student and company progress during the internship
- Ensures successful internship experience for both students and companies involved
- Keeps accurate documentation of records
- Remain current on internship issues and employ strategies for efficient resolution
- Develop and implement strategies that create consistency and standardization among all cohorts
Marketing/Recruitment
- Recruits new companies to host internships
- Keeps a steady pipeline of companies interested in the program
- Maintains relationships with company partners helping them to fulfill their needs
- Maintains accurate records of company partners
- Stay abreast of internship competitors and market trends
- Suggest new programs and participate in pricing strategy discussions
- Ensure the way we are marketing, recruiting, and administering company partners is a smooth process with a high level of customer service
- Work with executive management to drive growth Internship Program Development
- Make sure that LEARN stays in line with current trends and best practices
- Work on the development of new programs in new and current locations
An active member of the Startup/Tech Community
- Attends regular meetups
- Volunteers or joins boards of local community groups (ie, Girls in Tech, Startup San Diego, SDJavascript, workforce development orgs, chamber of commerce)
- Participates and plans LEARN meetups
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 – 5 years of experience in program management, career services, or recruitment
- Community and business development experience
- Competence with project management, and communication applications (i.e. Zoom, Slack, Trello, Hubspot, DocuSign, Notion)
- Experience in planning, processes, and timelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoys a collaborative workspace
- No previous coding experience required, but a passion for tech is a plus
