Student Spotlight: Max Robock

This week we’re so excited to share our very 1st “Student Spotlight” of March. Max Robock, of the 2016 Echo Class, just received and accepted an offer at the same company he interned at through LEARN. Here’s a bit about his experience and how he got to where he is today!

What is your name?

Maxwell “Max” Robock

What prompted your decision to pursue web development & what do you hope to do when you have completed the program?

Well, I’m not entirely sure. It must’ve been a slew of things coming together. I had heard about programming my entire life. My dad actually learned to program on punch cards and I got my first personal computer as a very young child. From there I dabbled a bit, taking a class here and there in high school and college. While I was never quite sold on the classes I took, I enjoyed the material itself.

What did you do professionally before you came to LEARN?

Having studied history in college, I primarily worked in Project Management across a variety of industries.

What is something that was a pleasant surprise after starting class?

I got SO LUCKY with the set of peers in my class. Everyone became friends really quickly. These same peers have been indispensable to my learning and I’m certain we’ll remain friends for a while.

Tell us one thing you would like to do in your lifetime (AKA something from your bucket list!)

Low Key:

  • Drive on the Autobahn
  • Maybe, Skydive

But really:

  • Found my own company based on something I write
  • And before the rest, push code to production that’s used by other people

What’s your favorite beer?

Thorn Street Relay IPA

A BIG CONGRATS to Max. Thanks for LEARNing with us.
