Get To Know Us! Hillary Opperman
Hillary is our talented Admissions Coordinator! She is a San Diego native and professional development enthusiast. After graduating from SDSU with a degree in political science, Hillary moved to Seattle, where she helped to recruit an army of canvassers in order to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for political non-profits. Since then, Hillary has been carefully expanding her network all over the country, so that LEARN graduates can tap into supportive communities across the United States.

What is your favorite element of working at LEARN? It’s so rewarding to be a part of each students journey and watching them grow into junior developers. Students come to us from all walks of life, from wedding planners to project managers, and they come to be apart of our community with a passion to LEARN. When they graduate they have the knowledge, skills and support to go out and land that dev job!
What brought you to LEARN? I have a passion for helping people unlock their potential and identify a professional path that works best for them. Working with LEARN students allows me to focus on helping each student identify their own path to walk down.
What is your favorite meal of the day, and why? Afternoon snack, little slice of cheese, some mustard and a pickle to top it off!

What is your favorite thing about working in tech? The fast paced environment and the welcoming atmosphere.
What do you wish you’d known ten years ago about being a programmer/working in tech? I wish I would have known that working in tech can mean being both analytical and creative.
